The Journey of a Droll Teller
Droll Tellers travelled across the moors and along the Cornish coast with a fiddle on their back, reciting folk tales for all to hear in order to keep the stories of Old Cornwall alive. Each landscape had its own secret story. Sea Bucca lingering in harbours, Giants creating iconic landscapes, Knockers being an omen of tragedy, are just a few of the many tales that would have been told. Since the Industrial Revolution, this profession has become obsolete but this project sets out to revive this tradition and bring it into the modern era by capturing the essence of each tale through photography; as a way of visual storytelling.
